Europe is the cradle of some of the prominent languages in the world. European institutes offer a wide variety of study courses and programs in different languages, such as Spanish, French, German, Polish, English, Italian and Portuguese. Students may even have the chance to study in a bilingual course and they can easily become fluent in two or more languages if they want!
Application Deadlines
In Europe, the school’s year runs from September to June, with two intakes. There may be different application deadlines for European and non-EU students. If you are a non-European student then we recommend that you start your application for study purposes in Europe at least one year in advance in order to fulfill all the deadlines.
Study programs
Higher education courses in Europe are categorized as per cycles and they follow the European Higher Education Area guidelines, i.e., first-cycle courses will be equal to bachelor programs, second-cycle courses will be equal to master degree programs, and the third-cycle programs will be equal to Ph.D. degrees.
Tuition fees
Europeans pay either no fees or very minimal fees for their higher education courses. But foreign students have to pay either full tuition fees, no fees, or very moderate amounts depending on the institution, program, and country.
The ECTS system
In Europe, one school year program is equal to 60 ECTS (ECTS means European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). In this country the first cycle programs are equal to 180 – 240 ECTS; second cycle programs are equal to 60 – 120 ECTS; while third cycle programs don’t have any specific ECTS range.
The Schengen Visa
Students, if you are thinking of pursuing your course in Europe for more than 90 days, you will have to apply for PR in the country of your choice. Some countries demand international students apply for a permit before arriving in Europe.
